About the Event

The Formula 1 Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix has rapidly become a world-class event in its first three years. This three-day spectacle attracts a global audience to witness the world's greatest drivers and cars navigate the iconic Las Vegas Strip at breathtaking speeds approaching 200 mph. As a member of the Experiential Operations team, this position is responsible for making the LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX an exciting event.

The Sr. Director of Hospitality for LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX is responsible for the overall fit and finish of hospitality structures, operational flow, and process of hospitality spaces. This position works with the commercial and operational teams to activate hospitality spaces. This position manages the operational process of food & beverage vendors for hospitality spaces and has oversight and responsibility for leading a team to plan all hospitality need.

The role requires collaboration with the marketing and design team, to conceptualize, plan, facilitate and execute the commercial strategy. This position reports directly to the VP of Experiential Operations. This role is a regular, full-time position and is based in Las Vegas.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for establishing a cohesive fit and finish plan for all LVGP hospitality structures, including but not limited to the Paddock, Paddock Club, Hospitality Garages, Skybox and Koval Structures.
  • Working with all departments, including Site Operations, Event Operations, Race Operations, Grand Prix Plaza Team and Premium Sales / Services to coordinate the load in schedule, timing of vendor operations and management, while creating efficiencies in vendors and cost efficiencies across the circuit.
  • Develop, hire, and manage the hospitality operations team at LVGP, building relationships with vendors, streamlining services and experiences within hospitality areas.
  • Oversee the coordination of assets needed to ensure the hospitality areas are set up for success, as well as the delivery of experiences within the hospitality spaces.
  • Work alongside respective LVGP teams to establish location, dates, and hours of the various hospitality areas.
  • Work alongside LVGP management to deliver activation spaces within the Paddock Club and Paddock.
  • Collaborate with the commercial partnerships team to ensure delivery of any sponsorship requirements and / or bespoke products.
  • Work with food & beverage providers to ensure needs are met for Hospitality packages.
  • Establish Hospitality packages and experiences in both Secondary Hospitality and Paddock / Paddock Club.
  • Establish operational SOP’s for all Hospitality Operational components and work with each LVGP team to ensure the successful execution of those SOP’s.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with all LVGP internal teams and vendors as it pertains to Hospitality needs.
  • Work to manage, track and be accountable for all budget items working to review contracts and invoices and ensure change orders are tracked, approved, and communicated appropriately.
  • Work with Leadership and Commercial teams to execute all Ancillary Events throughout the calendar year, i.e. GPP race watch parties, GPP opening event, 100 days out event, etc.
  • Assist with operational and event needs for Grand Prix Plaza as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

In addition to the performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the requirements of the company. Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of event, festival, or hospitality industry management experience
  • Motivated self-starter who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and has exceptional follow through skills
  • Experience managing a team
  • Experience sourcing, selecting and managing vendors
  • Superior organizational and project management skills and an innate ability to anticipate needs of team
  • Ability to track, manage and meet budget requirements
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to be punctual and meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle stress and pressure

    Ability to be flexible in handling change, able to juggle multiple demands, and adaptable to new situations with fresh ideas or innovative approaches.

  • Capable of working with staff within the company and industry associates outside of the company
