POSITION OVERVIEW
The Baggage Handler is responsible for providing a prompt, friendly, courteous, and fun experience to our arriving and departing guests. Baggage Handlers will also assist Bellmen with gridding, moving bags to various areas of the properties, and bell desk duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, offering assistance upon their arrival and ensuring a gracious farewell upon departure
- Assist with luggage gridding and baggage transport to locations other than hotel rooms
- Safely transport luggage to and from guest rooms using designated carts and handling equipment
- Help guests load and unload their belongings from vehicles, providing assistance as needed
- Accept and log incoming packages and mail for guests, notifying recipients promptly
- Foster positive guest relations by being approachable, courteous, and attentive to their needs
- Handle guest concerns or issues with empathy and efficiency, finding timely resolutions or escalating matters to the Front Services management team or relevant management
- Maintain a clear record of all unclaimed luggage, following established procedures for handling lost items
- Collaborate with the hotel's front desk and security teams to manage lost and found items efficiently
- Provide a current Nevada Motor Vehicle Report every 6 months, and immediately notify the department leader of any changes to the Nevada Driver’s License status
- Maintain an organized and aesthetically pleasing bell service area
- Present a professional appearance at all times, wearing a well-maintained uniform and name tag
- Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a similar guest service role within a luxury hotel, high-end resort is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a welcoming and approachable demeanor
- Highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality
- Ability to maintain composure when working in busy and stressful situations
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive guest and company information
- Customer-centric mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional and personalized guest experiences
- Knowledge of local attractions, events, and cultural offerings to provide informed recommendations to guests
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry luggage and packages for guests
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends
- Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
