Position: Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) Engineer

MTSI leads the way in cutting‑edge simulation and training solutions, driving the future of Large Force Exercises with unmatched realism. We are seeking a Live, Virtual, Constructive Engineer for the USAFWC Exercise support team at Nellis AFB, NV. Candidate will be responsible for work in a multitasking, quick‑paced, dynamic environment supporting USAF Warfare Center Large Force Exercises, Operational Test, and Tactics Development.

The role includes support planning and execution of Chairman, Joint Chief of Staff (CJCS), Combatant Command (COCOM), and Major Command (MAJCOM)-level exercises and events.

Responsibilities
  • Integrate diverse simulation platforms to ensure seamless interoperability across various systems.
  • Support end‑users by training personnel to effectively utilize LVC systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain simulations aligned with client training goals.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to refine and enhance simulation capabilities.
  • Develop LVC scenarios in support of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), planning conferences, and training cadre.
  • Communicate with multi‑domain teams to translate requirements into high‑fidelity simulations that blend seamlessly with live data.
  • Continuously assess and improve modeling and simulation processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Candidate Tasks May Include
  • Simulation creation:
    Employ simulation systems to build realistic training scenarios using live, virtual, and constructive environments.
  • Integrate new solutions:
    Incorporate new simulation software and environments into the existing ecosystem to enhance overall system capabilities.
  • Data visualization:
    Create comprehensive visualizations to represent simulation outcomes and model predictions clearly.
  • Planning:
    Support IPTs, planning conferences, and training cadre to develop LVC scenarios based on exercise requirements.
  • Mission translation:
    Translate multi‑domain team requirements into high‑fidelity simulations that integrate live data.
  • Process improvement:
    Assess and improve modeling and simulation processes, incorporating new methods or technologies as appropriate.
Required Skills
  • 8+ Years experience in Air Operations and/or Exercise planning, with an emphasis on multi‑domain mission execution & management.
  • Bachelor of Science in computer or systems engineering, software development, or related discipline (In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 8 years applicable work experience).
  • Experience with multi‑domain scenario development, friendly (US and Coalition) and enemy Order of Battle, and ingestion/digitization of scenarios into simulation systems.
  • Knowledge of industry and DoD LVC environments, including key enablers for networked, distributed training.
  • Experience with High Level Architecture (HLA) and/or DIS PDU protocols and functionality.
  • Programming languages such as C++, C#, and/or Python.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset, strong focus on accuracy and quality of work.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, architectures, and protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP.
Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science required. Master’s degree desired. Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Travel Requirements

Routine travel is expected. Candidates should anticipate one week per month. Expectation that work will be performed onsite. Non‑traditional work hours may be required.

Clearance Requirements

Current Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain access to Special Access Required (SAR) Programs and Special Technical Operations (STO) required.

Citizenship

U.S. Citizenship is required.
