Role and context

The Data Product Manager leads the strategy, delivery, and lifecycle management of enterprise data products across the organization. This role operates at the intersection of business strategy, data engineering, analytics, and data governance, translating complex business needs into scalable, trusted data products that support decision-making, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The Data Product Manager owns one or more data domains (e.g., customer, transactions, risk, operations, or contact center data) and ensures data products are discoverable, reliable, secure, and fit for purpose for business and analytical consumers within a highly regulated financial services environment.

What

you will do
  • Define and own the vision, roadmap, success metrics, and ongoing KPI reporting for assigned data products and data domains (including data quality, usage, time-to-insight, and business value realization)
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify high-value use cases, translate business problems into outcome-driven requirements, and prioritize initiatives aligned with business objectives
  • Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and platform teams to deliver data products using Agile practices
  • Develop and maintain product documentation, including PRDs, epics, and user stories for datasets, metrics, APIs, and dashboards
  • Ensure data products meet standards for data quality, performance, availability, scalability, and security, and continuously improve products based on feedback and performance metrics
  • Embed data governance principles into product design, including metadata management, data lineage, and data quality controls
  • Ensure compliance with financial services regulations related to privacy, data retention, auditability, and access controls, partnering with Risk, Legal, and Compliance to support controls, reviews, and approvals
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business leaders and teams consuming data products, driving adoption through documentation, enablement activities, and ongoing stakeholder communication
What you will bring
  • 7+ years of product management experience, including at least 3 years focused on data, analytics, or platform products
  • Experience working in financial services (banking, lending, insurance, wealth management, or fintech)
  • Strong working knowledge of data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines
  • Experience with analytics and business intelligence tools, including dashboards and metrics layers
  • Solid understanding of data governance concepts, including metadata management, data lineage, data quality, and access controls
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable data product requirements
  • Experience working in Agile and Scrum delivery environments
  • Familiarity with Snowflake on cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
What will set you apart
  • Awareness of regulatory and control frameworks relevant to data management (SOX, GDPR, GLBA, model risk management)
  • Background in analytics, data engineering, or quantitative roles
  • Experience with domain-oriented data ownership models or data mesh concepts
