Job SummaryWe are seeking a Field Moderator (Non-Technical) to support in-home camera-based data collection sessions. This role is responsible for executing field sessions end-to-end, guiding participants through defined scenarios, ensuring proper protocol adherence, and maintaining consistent data collection quality. The ideal candidate has experience in field operations, research studies, or in-person data collection, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage participants while following structured procedures.
This role requires attention to detail, situational awareness, and the ability to adapt to real-world environments during in-home sessions.
- Conduct in-home data collection sessions by guiding participants through pre-defined scenarios following approved scripts and timelines.
- Manage participant onboarding, including consent confirmation, engagement, and adherence to study protocols.
- Ensure correct device placement, camera framing, and environment readiness according to setup guidelines.
- Monitor participant comfort, safety, and fatigue, pausing or stopping sessions when necessary.
- Track scenario completion in real time to ensure full coverage and avoid missing or duplicate data.
- Identify and elevate technical issues, protocol deviations, or data quality concerns to the Technical Moderator or Project Lead.
- Maintain accurate session records, scenario completion logs, and field notes.
- Follow all privacy, confidentiality, and data handling guidelines during field operations.
- Experience in field operations, in-person research studies, or data collection activities.
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end sessions independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for participant-facing interactions.
- Ability to follow structured protocols while adapting to dynamic field environments.
- Strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and operational discipline.
- Experience supporting camera-based studies, UX research, observational research, or usability testing.
- Experience working across multiple households or field locations.
- Familiarity with multi-scenario field sessions and participant coordination.
- Complete all assigned scenarios with high first-pass data acceptance.
- Maintain strong participant engagement with minimal compliance issues.
- Ensure zero safety or privacy violations during field sessions.
- Provide clear communication and coordination with technical moderators and project teams.
