AUTHORITY: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is authorized to collect the information requested in this website under Title 5 of the United States Code, specifically Section 301 “Departmental Regulations” and Section 1104 “Delegation of authority for Personnel Management,” and Executive Order 13767, Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements (January 25, 2017).
PURPOSE:
The primary purpose for collecting this information is to conduct recruitment, marketing, outreach, and advertising to potential candidates for CBP positions and to reengage withdrawn applicants and invite them to reapply to CBP employment opportunities. CBP will collect business contact information from individuals who have an interest in CBP employment opportunities. CBP will also use pixels and web tracking technologies to track visits to the CBP public-facing websites, monitor the size of the audience, and better understand the interactions of candidates in order to improve the functionality of the websites and the user experience.
The individual must opt-in to consent to pixel and web tracking, which will allow CBP to determine individual-level online activity. CBP will conduct data analytics for recruitment strategies, to measure the effectiveness of outreach campaigns.
ROUTINE USES:
The information requested on this website may be shared with appropriate agencies, entities, and persons when (1) DHS suspects or has confirmed that the security or confidentiality of information in the system of records has been compromised; (2) the Department has determined that as a result of the suspected or confirmed compromise there is a risk of harm to economic or property interests, identity theft or fraud, or harm to the security or integrity of this system or other systems or programs (whether maintained by DHS or another agency or entity) or harm to the individual that rely upon the compromised information;
and (3) the disclosure made to such agencies, entities, and persons is reasonably necessary to assist in connection with DHS's efforts to respond to the suspected or confirmed compromise and prevent, minimize, or remedy such harm.
