Datacenter Technician

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Optical Engineer to support data center operations, optical transport networks, and field services activities in Bridgeport, AL.

• Data center racking, stacking, cabling, and equipment installation
• Break-fix support and remote hands services
• Optical transport testing and troubleshooting
• Hardware replacement for routers, switches, servers, and transport equipment
• Fiber and Ethernet cable installation, termination, and testing
• Site audits, documentation, and project support
• AC/DC power equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Oversight of third-party vendor activities

• 3–5 years of data center, network operations, or field services experience
• Strong knowledge of fiber optics, Ethernet cabling, and optical transport networks
• Experience with OTDR, optical power meters, BERT testing, RFC
  2544, Ether
  
  SAM (Y.1564)
• Ability to read and follow MOPs
  , engineering drawings, and technical documentation
• Experience troubleshooting network and transport equipment
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and after-hours when required

• Knowledge of IP networking and telephony environments
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
