Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware (servers and components) and server software.
- Configure networks, routers, hubs, bridges and switches and troubleshoot networking protocols.
- Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
- Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose straightforward equipment or infrastructure issues, and apply the resources needed to resolve them.
- Maintain security and integrity of data, tracking media to check for standard data security issues.
- Disassemble specific equipment that has reached its end‑of‑life for part replacement or maintenance in a team setting.
- Repair, fix, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure based on identified issues with defined solutions and limited guidance.
- Experience with component‑level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
- Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
- Ability to lift/move 50 lb (23 kg) of equipment and to exert oneself physically over extended periods, including frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling, and lifting.
- Must be able to work non‑standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift‑based schedules as required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience (preferred).
- Completion of the Google IT Support Professional Certificate program (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware or networking protocols (preferred).
- Experience working within a data center or network operation center environment (preferred).
- Experience with component‑level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment or in a similar role such as Systems Administration, Network Deployment Engineer, Help Desk Technician, etc. (preferred).
- Ability to collaborate and partner with teams to overcome challenges, and to adapt to changes in a dynamic work environment (preferred).
- US: $78,000 – $111,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
- Eligibility for equity granted discretely by Alphabet Inc.
