This is not a traditional systems administration role.
My client is looking for a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer who understands how cloud services, virtualization, networking, security, and automation work together to support a high-performance software development environment.
The strongest candidates don't simply administer systems. They understand why systems are designed a certain way, how technical decisions impact reliability and security, and how infrastructure choices support the business.
What You’ll Own- Azure and Microsoft 365 administration
- VMware vSphere environments
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Network infrastructure, firewalls, and security
- Endpoint management and security
- Power Shell automation and process improvement
- Dev/Test environment support for software development teams
- Infrastructure monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery
- Azure and Microsoft 365 administration
- VMware vSphere / ESXi
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Networking fundamentals including VLANs, routing, and firewalls
- Endpoint security and systems administration
- Power Shell scripting and automation
- Windows and Linux server administration
- CI/CD and Dev Ops exposure
- Git Hub or Jira integrations
- Docker or Kubernetes
- SQL Server administration
- AI-assisted automation tools
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and taking ownership across multiple disciplines. We’re not looking for a VMware administrator, network engineer, or cloud engineer. We’re looking for an Infrastructure Engineer who understands how these systems work together and can explain not only what they do, but why they do it.
