The Office of Technology Services (OTS) in Henderson campus at the College of Southern Nevada is seeking dependable, customer-focusedindividuals to provide part-time support to our Technology Service steam.
This position is ideal for someone who has an interest intechnology and wants to gain practical, hands-on experience in an educational technology environment. Candidates may have previousIT, customer service, or computer-related experience, but priorprofessional IT experience is not required. Training will be provided on CSN's technology, tools, systems, and processes.

Depending on the needs of the department and the candidate's skillsand interests, this position may provide support in the computerlab, the technology office/back shop, or both.
Position Responsibilities- Provide front-line support and oversight of the computer labduring operating hours.
- Assist students, faculty, and staff with basic computer,printer, account, and technology-related questions.
- Monitor the computer lab and help ensure equipment, work spaces,and technology resources are available and functioningproperly.
- Answer questions and direct students, faculty, and staff to appropriate resources when inquiries are made in person or byphone.
- Assist OTS technicians with basic troubleshooting of hardware,software, printer, and network connectivity issues.
- Assist with preparing, configuring, imaging, and deployingcomputers and other technology equipment. Training will be provided.
- Assist technicians with installing, transporting, securing, andcable-managing computers and other technology equipment inclassrooms, labs, and staff offices.
- Assist with inventory, labeling, tracking, and organization oftechnology equipment and peripherals.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of equipment forsurplus, salvage, moves, and other technology-related activities.
- Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas, includingworkbenches, storage areas, and office spaces.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and maintaining bench stockand technology supplies.
- Maintain basic records of work performed and equipmenthandled.
- Assist OTS staff with customer-facing technical support and troubleshooting in lab, classroom, and office environments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Dependable, punctual, responsible, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge of computers, common software applications, and Internet use.
- Willingness and ability to learn new technology, tools, and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide courteous,professional customer service.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multipleresponsibilities.
- Ability to follow established procedures and maintain confidentiality when working with technology and customer information.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such asWord, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to perform basic Internet research and create or editdocuments.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Ability to physically move and handle computer equipment and related materials, including working under desks when necessary.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing approximately
25-50+ pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. - Must maintain required academic standing to remain eligible for student employment, where applicable.
Professional IT experience is not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications- Current CSN student pursuing or interested in pursuing adegree, certificate, or career in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with computers, technology, or technical equipment.
- Previous customer service, help desk, retail, or otherpublic-facing experience.
- Successfully completed IS 101 or an equivalent computer/ITcourse.
- Experience troubleshooting basic computer hardware or softwareissues.
- Familiarity with Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, printers, orother common technology.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cloud+, Microsoft, Apple, HDI,or other relevant certifications.
- Previous employment, internship, volunteer, or classroomexperience in an IT-related environment.
- Faculty or professional letter of reference.
This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting technology in a higher-education environment while working alongside experienced OTS technicians. Employees will receive training on CSN's technology, tools, procedures, and support processes.
