The Nevada Department of Transportation is hiring an IT Professional 2 to serve as a field technician in Las Vegas, maintaining the Nevada Shared Public Radio System (NSRS). The role involves daily operations, maintenance, and sustainment of digitally trunked radio systems, plus installation and maintenance of radio communications sites across Southern Nevada. This is an on-site, full-time position requiring technical expertise in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing complex communications infrastructure.
Keyqualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field plus two years of professional IT experience
- Working knowledge of network administration, directory services, and network security practices
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software and resolve technical issues with minimal outside help
- Valid driver's license required at time of appointment
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Knowledge of digitally trunked radio systems and public radio principles and operations
