Legal Assistant – Litigation (Insurance Defense)
About the Role
Join a busy litigation team supporting attorneys and paralegals across all stages of civil litigation. You’ll work on matters focused on insurance defense, premises liability (casino-related), and auto negligence. The role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in high‑volume environments, understands the pace and expectations of busy partners, and consistently delivers accurate, professional work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage attorney calendars, dockets, and appointments
- Prepare settlement packages; assist with trial preparation
- Review and summarize medical records
- Perform electronic filing in state and federal courts (CM/ECF/typo‑free submissions)
- Draft and format confidential correspondence, reports, and litigation documents
- Maintain organized client files (electronic and physical)
- Assist with time entry, billing, and general administrative tasks
- Provide back‑up support to other legal assistants as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of litigation experience (insurance defense preferred; plaintiff experience considered)
- Strong knowledge of state and federal e‑filing procedures
- Experience handling medical records and case documentation
- Exceptional organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
- High proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proven ability to manage heavy workloads and prioritize multiple deadlines
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred

- Compensation: $60,000–$75,000 annually + potential year‑end bonus
