Position SummaryThe Branch Associate will work cooperatively with the team to reach the branch operations and profit goals.
Essential Duties- Promotes and demonstrates Wurtec’s core values (dedicated, hardworking, ambitious, willing to accept responsibility, and integrity).
- Receives, warehouses, picks, and ships activities, loads/unloads trucks, and cuts elevator cable.
- Loads/unloads trucks with a high level of care to maintain inventory accuracy and inspects product for damage or defects.
- Handles the cut line process including picking, cutting, and shipping.
- Assists with branch audits, physical inventory including stocking, picking, and shipping.
- Maintains cleanliness, organization, and safety in the counter, self‑serve, warehouse, and delivery areas.
- Operates a forklift and cutline machine.
- Coordinates and prioritizes the prompt transfer of inventory between branches as needed.
- Operates all company vehicles and equipment safely and performs required inspections.
- Provides customer service assistance with quoting, product availability, sales order processing, returns/defective material processing, product/transfer procurement, and technical support.
- Suggests improvements to operational functions to the Branch Manager.
- Attends full‑time, in‑person shifts.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Basic computer skills, data entry, and Microsoft Office.
- Aptitude for learning company ERP, Epicor.
- Detail oriented, flexible, and prioritizes effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated and works effectively both independently and as a team.
- Uses creative thinking to identify problems and develop solutions.
- Works in a time‑effective manner and follows systematic approaches with proper follow‑up.
- Service and detail oriented.
- Able to take directions and provide backup support where needed.
- Minimum of 1 year of warehouse shipping & receiving experience preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of wholesale distribution preferred.
- High school diploma.
Physical Requirements
This role primarily operates in a warehouse environment that is not climate controlled. The noise level is described as moderate and may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. This role requires constant lifting up to 10 lbs., frequent lifting up to 50 lbs., and occasional lifts up to 100 lbs. The position may require walking, standing, kneeling, pushing, reaching, stooping/twisting, climbing, crouching, driving, grasping/gripping, picking/pinching, pulling, reaching overhead, and squatting.
Near visual acuity, and the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech is required. Remote work is not eligible.
