Job Summary
The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for inventory storage and movements within and between the assigned inventory locations as well as packaging, shipping and receiving from the assigned location. The role ensures accurate and timely inventory transactions, proper storage and handling of assigned materials, and safe and efficient day‑to‑day warehouse activities. Adherence to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards is required, and the associate may be cross‑trained to work in multiple areas of the store to support business needs.
Responsibilities- Stock inventory or other assigned items in assigned locations or as needed to protect inventory and to efficiently move inventory as needed.
- Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
- Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor following company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
- Maintain all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and participate in the maintenance/cleanliness of the entire store.
- Provide and accept ongoing recognition and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a risk‑free environment.
- Perform duties as assigned.
- Be required to drive a 26‑inch box truck for inventory delivery as needed to and from warehouse to site destinations.
- Forklift certification preferred but not required.
- Possesses strong communication skills.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Works effectively with peers and supervisors to accomplish tasks.
- May work in drastic temperature climates.
- Willing to work during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines.
- Remains upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
- Lifts and exerts up to 35 lbs of force occasionally, up to 10 lbs of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force regularly to move objects to and from, including overhead lifting.
- Has close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visual inspection involving small parts/details.
- Must have a clean motor vehicle report.
Work can be performed on a flexible schedule to support business needs. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The associate must respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations, work in extreme or drastic weather conditions, and tolerate loud noise levels in busy environments.
