Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a growing manufacturer of highly engineered components for industries where reliability is mission-critical and failure is not an option. They work directly with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners to deliver custom, high-reliability solutions, and they're investing now in strategic sourcing to reduce reliance on any single region for critical inputs.
- Hunters who'd rather pick up the phone and open a new supplier relationship than wait for a referral to land in their inbox
- People who read a component drawing and can talk shop with an electronics or precision-fabrication supplier without missing a beat
- Operators comfortable in a small, close-knit company where you wear more than one hat and build the process, not just follow it
- Negotiators with real backbone, who can push a supplier hard on cost and timeline without burning the relationship
- If you want a fully staffed, already-optimized supply chain organization where the playbook is written and you're maintaining it, this probably isn't your next move.
You’ll report to the Director of Manufacturing Operations and lead a small, close-knit purchasing team. As global tariff shifts reshape sourcing costs across the industry, this company is building out a strategic sourcing function that a lot of competitors haven't started yet, and you’ll own it.
- Build and execute the long-term procurement strategy, adjusting it as tariffs and market conditions shift
- Lead global sourcing diversification, actively developing new supplier regions instead of leaning on the easiest existing relationship
- Negotiate directly with suppliers and vendors on cost, quality, and delivery terms
- Set standards, controls, policies, and performance metrics for third-party spend across the company
- Run business reviews with key stakeholders to assess risk and surface improvement opportunities
- Partner with the purchasing team on demand and inventory management execution
- Build market intelligence on key suppliers, regions, and solutions to inform strategy
The hiring manager was direct about the gap this role fills: the easy path is leaning on one existing supply relationship for everything; the job is to actually pick up the phone, find new suppliers, and expand the base strategically instead. This is a small company where roles and processes aren't fully built out yet. You’ll be setting them, not just running them.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of supply chain or procurement experience with broad, hands-on exposure across the function
- Working knowledge of manufacturing, material flow, and improvement strategies
- Hands-on enterprise resource planning (ERP) experience across demand planning, scheduling, and inventory management
- In-depth experience running sales and operations planning (S&OP) processes
- Comfortable reading technical drawings and speaking the language of an engineering or manufacturing floor
- Experience in a high-reliability or regulated manufacturing environment
- Experience building or expanding supplier relationships in Mexico, India, or other emerging manufacturing regions
- Background sourcing electronics or precision-fabricated components
