Position Overview
Maintenance Assistant, Multifamily – Support residents in maintaining property quality and delivering superior customer service at Cushman & Wakefield.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare Market‑Ready apartments: painting, carpet repairs, cleaning, general repairs, housekeeping, and related tasks to ensure a quality move‑in experience.
- Respond to resident requests promptly and professionally.
- Perform maintenance functions such as plumbing, HVAC, basic electrical, carpentry, painting, and snow removal (when applicable).
- Maintain grounds, pools/hot tubs, common areas, and dog park amenities to keep them clean, operational, and safe.
- Report maintenance concerns in vacant units, models, and common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Apply knowledge of state, local, and federal fair‑housing laws.
- Attend and participate in required training programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in a timely manner.
- Deliver superior customer service and represent the company professionally at all times.
- Adhere to Cushman & Wakefield appearance standards.
- Safeguard company tools and equipment.
- High School Diploma, GED, Technical, or Vocational training (or equivalent).
- Relevant experience in property maintenance or facilities management.
- EPA 608 – Minimum Type II, CPO, or local city required certificate.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem‑solving skills for routine situations involving several known variables.
- Strong safety mindset and ability to follow all safety policies and procedures.
Duty requires standing and walking for extended periods, ascending/climbing stairs, ladders, or step stools, regular travel between properties in varying weather, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally or frequently. Approximately 85% of the time involves standing or sitting.
Work EnvironmentProfessional office setting with standard office equipment (computer, phone, photocopier, etc.) and frequent travel between properties in various weather conditions.
CompensationHourly rate: $23.80 – $28.00, subject to factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and collective‑bargaining agreements. The company will not pay less than minimum wage.
