The University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) seeks a Custodial Worker II to maintain cleanliness and safety in the 135,000 square foot Student Union building and surrounding areas. The role includes general cleaning, equipment operation, and occasional special event support.

• Perform general cleaning services using various equipment and materials to provide a safe, hygienic environment.
• Clean meeting rooms, offices, hallways, closets, stairways, entrances, dining areas, lounges, theater, SORCE Room, offices, labs, and other assigned spaces.
• Maintain exterior areas of the SU, including trash bins, sidewalks, stairways, loading dock, Pida Plaza, and SU Courtyard.
• Assist with food retail outlet cleaning (e.g., Starbucks, Jamba Juice, POD Convenience Store, UNLV Bookstore).
• Conduct floor care (sweeping, mopping, stripping/waxing, buffing, vacuuming, carpet shampooing), window washing, daily office cleaning, furniture polishing, and storage organization.
• Perform light maintenance, repair equipment, operate machinery (scissor lift, electric strippers, buffers, vacuums, extractors, rider scrubbers).
• Open and lock facility; lock as required.
• Work outside standard schedules for special events, holidays, weekends, late evenings, or early mornings with advance notice.

• Day Shift: Thursday–Monday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM (Off Tuesday & Wednesday)
• Swing Shift: Friday–Tuesday 2:00 PM–10:30 PM (Off Wednesday & Thursday)
• Shift availability is subject to change; final schedule will be provided upon offer.

• Minimum Qualifications (all waived until December 31, 2025 per Executive Order 2025‑002):
• High‑school graduation or equivalent.
• One year custodial or janitorial experience in any commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental, or similar environment.
