Position: Assistant BOC Manager - Fixed Route

Overview

We are Now Hiring an Assistant Bus Operations Control (BOC) Manager in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Assistant BOC Manager will manage all aspects of BOC Operations including on-time performance standards, service interruptions, detour management, and related transit service duties. This position will also supervise BOC Agents, Senior BOC Agents, OTP Monitors, and BOC Shift Managers to ensure they accomplish their assigned tasks according to their job descriptions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The Assistant BOC Manager will work closely with the BOC Manager to guide and support all BOC personnel to maximize reliability and safety of our transit service for passengers.

Responsibilities
  • The Assistant BOC Manager is a key member of the extended local leadership team by providing 24/7 management presence to Transit Operations staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate daily Transit Operations activities and employee performance including missed runs, on-time statistics, total work and paid hours, accident data, and other operations-related functions.
  • Monitor and evaluate employees’ performance and provide disciplinary action as needed.
  • Develop knowledge of the Las Vegas RTC service area and all aspects of bus operator, road supervisor, terminal supervisor, and on-time performance monitor roles.
  • Understand and follow the RTC’s (the client) and Transdev’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure performance indicators meet or exceed client and corporate expectations. Minimize liquidated damages and correct failures.
  • Implement and support business-critical operations technologies (VDS, Zonar, AVL, etc.) as a subject-matter expert and recommend best applications for the operating environment.
  • Manage the location’s performance, share best practices, train on technology solutions, and facilitate their implementation to improve service quality and financial performance.
  • Coordinate dispatching, in-service monitoring, and evaluations involved in daily transit operations.
  • Complete necessary daily and/or weekly reports for company and client to ensure service quality.
  • Inform BOC Manager of potential risks in the operation.
  • Promote the company vision, values, and culture throughout operations.
  • Manage staff, their schedules, and handle call-offs by filling shifts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software, data analytics, and experience leading a team of five or more.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule and cover all shifts when needed.
  • Maintain positive employee and labor relations, including regular engagement with operations staff, recognizing performance, coaching, promotions, and overall job satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist in other areas based on location needs.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years’ experience in public transit.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skilled in customer service delivery, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with ability to influence without authority.
  • Working knowledge of ADA law and ADA service requirements.
  • Dependable with strong time management, ability to meet deadlines, and multi-task.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word) and Windows-based programs.
Physical Requirements

The essential functions require the ability to:

  • Work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
  • Sustain long periods of sitting, typing, or computer use.
  • Work indoors and outdoors with varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Stand or sit for extended periods and traverse uneven surfaces; tolerate noisy, dusty environments.
