Job Description:

This position is responsible for managing the construction, design and development coordination for the development of SAHARA Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.

Job Focus:

Focus is on, but not limited to the following:

• Independently manage components of a large complex casino renovation projects with high degree of quality while meeting the budget and completing the projects on time.
• Ability to develop and present scope, schedule and budget documentation.
• Cultivate and maintain a positive working relationship with all client representatives, operations stakeholders and service providers operating on the project.
• Demonstrate an ability to effectively build teams and encourage participation for successful projects.
• Provide timely and accurate project documentation and reporting including but not limited to:
  Project meetings, using meeting minutes to document project activity, project directories and project status updates to keep clients and team members updated.
• Manage all aspects of construction projects as assigned effectively and efficiently including, but not limited to, Budgeting, Scheduling, Procurement Tracking, Submittals, Requests for Information, and Change Orders.
• Understanding of client's capital and expense guidelines to facilitate the development of project funding request documents. Issue Project Purchase Orders, Service Contracts and Change Orders, and verify appropriate vendor insurance certificates.
• Build schedules to include sufficient time for all process requirements. Challenge sliding schedules and use expertise to suggest options to maintain schedule.
• Manage changes to budget and/or commitments to ensure projects are completed under budget, and timely and accurate budget and cash flow reporting to the client.
• Produce Request for Proposals (RFP), review, de-scope and qualify vendor bids.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities.
• Approve invoices for payment. Ensure vendors are paid in full and zero out purchase orders prior to close-out of the project.
• Implement a standard document filing program at project inception and manage documents throughout the life of the project.

Desired Qualifications:

• Complete knowledge of project estimating.
• Knowledge of Anticipated Cost Reporting and Forecasting.
• Demonstrate the ability to use unit costs and benchmark data to build rough order of magnitude project budget as well as detailed project cost estimates.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or similar field.
• 5-10 years of experience in building construction, including Tenant Improvements. Hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong project communication skills, interpersonal, written and verbal.
• Strong technical knowledge of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, low voltage, food service, and furniture drawings as well as space planning concepts.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of industry-standard scheduling tools and ability to create base line schedules that are updated throughout the life of the project.
• Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Bluebeam and experience with project management systems (Plan Grid, Autodesk, Pro Core, etc.) is helpful.
• Composure and professionalism while under pressure, must be able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting constant deadlines and maintaining strong attention to details.
