SummaryIt is the responsibility of the Supervisor Carpet to supervise and coordinate all pre‑show planning activities of carpet team members as well as show site execution of both association and exhibitor ordered carpet for all major convention facilities, including the delivery and pick‑up of various types of carpet used for trade shows, conventions, and meetings. Professionally interacts with customers, team members, and third‑party vendor/partner representatives to provide the highest level of service excellence.
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all safety policies and regulations, holding self and team accountable, actively communicating safety expectations, and supporting continuous improvement in safety practices. This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows an in‑person schedule working full‑time in‑office and/or show‑site based out of Las Vegas, NV.
- Direct team members to achieve operating results for Department.
- Deliver products & services to meet customer requirements in terms of quantity, quality & service.
- Manage department expenses within budget guidelines.
- Review work orders, floor plans, and advance carpet orders.
- Plan production & labor for all areas of department to ensure delivery requirements are met, resource utilization and labor productivity are maximized.
- Complete post show responsibilities including the submission of necessary paperwork for billing.
- Develop and train department team members to ensure sufficient & qualified workforce is available.
- Implement safety programs to minimize incidents and worker’s compensation claims.
- Develop & implement quality & service improvement programs to ensure consistent quality & service delivery that meet customer expectations.
- Develop & implement productivity programs to maximize operating efficiencies.
- Communicate and reinforce company safety objectives, programs, and policies within the team. Ensure employees complete required training and understand their safety responsibilities.
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies and applicable OSHA regulations.
- Investigate and document workplace accidents, near misses, and hazards promptly, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Lead by example by encouraging open communication on safety concerns and fostering accountability for maintaining a safe work environment.
- Track and review safety performance metrics, using insights to support decision‑making and corrective actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- College degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business preferred, but not required.
- Minimum two years leadership experience running trade shows (large events).
- Experience working with Carpet is preferred.
- Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to apply and uphold safety policies, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to a proactive safety culture that reduces incidents and improves safety outcomes.
