Overview

The Inventory Control Manager owns inventory accuracy, integrity, and the control environment across the business area, ensuring reliable financial reporting and effective working capital management.

This role leads inventory control processes—including cycle counting, physical inventories, and variance resolution—while establishing standardized procedures and enforcing SOX compliance. Partnering cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Quality, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams, the role drives data integrity, process discipline, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end inventory control activities including cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, and variance analysis to ensure high inventory accuracy and full SOX compliance.
  • Establish and enforce standardized inventory control processes and internal controls across all production and warehouse locations to ensure consistency, scalability, and audit readiness.
  • Own investigation and resolution of inventory discrepancies, performing root cause analysis, approving system adjustments, and driving timely corrective actions in accordance with company policy.
  • Oversee planning and execution of inventory counts, including pre-count coordination, checklist validation, and on-site execution governance to ensure accurate and controlled counting processes.
  • Govern inventory documentation and audit trails including count sheets, reconciliations, ERP transactions, and approval workflows to maintain compliance within a controlled SOX environment.
  • Monitor and ensure integrity of inventory data within ERP systems, proactively reviewing exception reports (e.g., discrepancies, UOM issues, aged transactions, failed postings) and driving resolution.
  • Develop and deliver inventory performance reporting, including KPI dashboards, material variance analysis, and ABC segmentation, providing actionable insights to operations and finance leadership.
  • Own and optimize ABC stratification and cycle count strategy, performing periodic analysis to align counting frequency with inventory risk and value.
  • Drive corrective action through structured remediation plans (RWP), ensuring root causes are addressed and issues are resolved within defined timelines.
  • Support financial close processes, including inventory roll-forward analysis, SOX control execution, and validation of inventory balances in partnership with Finance.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Quality, Supply Chain and Warehouse leadership to resolve inventory issues, improve processes, and align inventory practices with business objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to inventory policies, procedures, and system controls, reinforcing disciplined execution and continuous improvement across all inventory-related activities.
  • Support ERP enhancements, reporting tools, and inventory-related system improvements, partnering with IT and business stakeholders to enhance data visibility, control, and process efficiency.
  • Provide training and ongoing guidance to Operations and Warehouse teams on inventory control practices, procedures, and system utilization to reinforce compliance and improve execution consistency.
  • Contribute to special projects, internal audits, and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting broader operational and financial objectives as business needs evolve.
Qualifications
  • Strong expertise in inventory management principles, including cycle counting methodologies, physical inventory execution, and inventory control best practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with ERP systems and complex inventory data environments, with the ability to ensure data integrity and resolve discrepancies.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools to support reporting and analysis.
  • Highly analytical with strong problem‑solving capabilities, able to interpret data, identify root causes, and drive effective corrective actions.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
