Area Engineering Project Manager
The Area Engineering Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, and timely completion of all assigned Capital Improvement projects within the specified schedules and budgets. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams, managing resources, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Engineering Project Manager will also be responsible for communicating project progress to stakeholders and leadership.
Responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets; defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders; identifying resources needed and assigning individual responsibilities; managing project development from beginning to end; partnering and leading cross-functional project teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones; monitoring project progress and adjusting as necessary to ensure successful completion; regularly communicating project status to stakeholders, including progress, risks, and issues;
preparing and presenting project reports, proposals, and documentation; identifying potential project risks and developing mitigation strategies; resolving any issues or conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle; ensuring all projects adhere to company quality standards and regulatory requirements; conducting post-project evaluations to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements; implementing best practices and continuous improvement initiatives in project management processes; evaluating and recommending strategies to enhance project management efficiency;
drafting purchase orders and approving for pay out; maintaining comprehensive project files; maintaining daily logs of work performed; overseeing shipping and receiving of goods to and from Capital Improvements Warehouse and job site; maintaining inventory logs of Capital Improvements Warehouse; managing all Receiving and Damage Reports with purchasing agent; coordinating all Receiving and Damage Reports with purchasing agent; pricing and ordering tools and materials for Capital Improvement Department;
maintaining a warm and friendly demeanor at all times; effectively communicating both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner; listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests; multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions to meet deadlines; approaching all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner;
attending all hotel required meetings and trainings; maintaining regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel; maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags; complying with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations; maximizing efforts towards productivity, identifying problem areas and assisting in implementing solutions;
effectively handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary; understanding and evaluating complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives; maintaining confidentiality of information; and performing other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements include long hours sometimes required and medium work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Qualifications include at least 1 year of progressive experience in a supervisory/management position or project management in a hospitality setting or equivalent education/working experience, and the ability to read and comprehend project specifications, consultant reports from the various disciplines related to engineering.
