Position Summary:

Directs, administers, and has overall strategic and executive responsibility for the internal operational activities in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives for the following hospital services:
Business Development and Strategy;
Enterprise Project Management;
Process Improvement;
Fundraising (Grants and Foundation);
Government Relations;
Military Medicine;
Academic Affairs and Medical School Relations, and other departments as assigned. Serves as a member of the UMC executive team. Provides advice and counsel to the Chief Executive Officer and executive colleagues regarding organization-wide decisions and issues.

Essential Duties
  • 1. Participates in organization-wide mission and strategic planning, goal setting, programming, and resource allocation. Works with administrators and appropriate executive team members to establish organization-wide priorities, programs, and budgets.
  • 2. Allocates resources among subordinate departments. Reviews and approves programs, priorities, budgets, staffing, work plans, and cost control measures. Reallocates resources among departments as needed.
  • 3. Serves as organizational liaison with medical staff and allied services. Participates in various committees and task forces to address medical services. Serves as organizational liaison with University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Medicine and other academic programs.
  • 4. Supervises direct reports, including determining workloads, schedules, and priorities; effectively recommending new hires and terminations; conducting performance evaluations; effectively disciplining staff; tracking attendance; and interpreting and implementing departmental policies and procedures.
  • 5. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the division's services to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
  • 6. Serves as a liaison; develops and enhances positive, effective relationships with other external agencies and elected representatives, with particular emphasis on local agencies, county organizations, and state representatives, including elected officials, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholder groups.
  • 7. Develops multi-year strategic plans that integrate clinical priorities, financial goals, capital planning, and facility needs. Translates executive vision into a clear roadmap with defined priorities, owners, and accountability. Ensures strategy remains aligned with the organization’s mission, values, and long-term direction.
  • 8. Identifies service-line growth opportunities, access gaps, market share potential, and competitive threats. Utilizes financial modeling, contribution margin analysis, forecasting, and ROI evaluation to guide strategic decisions. Partners with clinical and operational leaders to shape sustainable growth plans.
