Material Handler, Forklift Operator
The Material Handler is responsible for supporting the processing and shipment of goods and services by properly picking, storing, stocking, and restocking materials and supplies utilized. The Material Handler is expected to perform their responsibilities in an error‑free manner while completing required paperwork and computer data entries associated with service center production processes.
Responsibilities and Duties- Work efficiently while picking and restocking materials.
- Ensure stock tags and material identifications are correct.
- Perform daily cycle counts.
- Prepare and pack items for shipments according to customer specifications and delivery dates.
- Load and unload material from delivery trucks.
- Measure materials upon arrival to the warehouse in raw, uncut form and check the gauge of materials using a micrometer.
- Enter data gathered into the computer system and generate tags to be placed on the appropriate material.
- Pull and stage materials according to the bill‑of‑lading.
- Perform dock audits to ensure the correct material is shipped to the customer.
- Obtain proof of identity from carriers and the appropriate signatures on the bill‑of‑lading.
- Drive a fork truck through the plant to move material and skids to designated areas safely.
- Operate the overhead crane to move material from machine to packaging safely.
- Strive to meet all customer expectations.
- Adhere to safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Adhere to all handbook policies and procedures.
- Work Hours are Monday‑Thursday, 12:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good organizational, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to measure using different tools.
- Ability to read and calculate numbers and data.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction.
- Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co‑workers, customers, and suppliers.
- Strong work ethic; initiative‑taking.
- One or more years of warehouse experience.
- Fork truck experience.

Good working conditions. Frequent visual/auditory attention and involvement required to place tags on appropriate materials. Requires continuous use of computers to receive and give information. Exposure to hazardous machinery, sharp tools, proximity to moving objects, noise, heat, humidity.
