Position: Continuous Improvement Lead $26.00/hr

Overview

Master Brand has been shaping the places where people come together for more than 70 years, creating meaningful memories for our customers and leading the residential cabinet industry in North America. This role focuses on guiding continuous improvement (CI) efforts across manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Guide CI Technicians in assessing, implementing, and sustaining continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/6‑sigma manufacturing and project management principles.
  • Lead Kaizen improvements, Standard Work and Process development, 6S, Visual Workplace development, Problem Solving, Lean Training, and project management activities.
  • Collaborate in a team environment, communicating work progress, providing daily team leadership, morning huddles, and managing task and workflow progression.
  • Develop CI capability and CI Specialist knowledge, deliver weekly CI reviews covering tasks and progress.
  • Develop and execute lean initiatives—including standard work, process engineering, TWI, 6S, visual workplace, PDCA, and other lean tools—to continually improve operational flows, efficiencies, and work efforts.
  • Manage and facilitate process improvement efforts through Kaizen, problem solving, and program management to enhance team member quality of life and customer product quality.
  • Develop and maintain process flow diagrams and time observations for baseline current state understanding.
  • Train and coach team members in the use of standard work, 6S, TWI, visual workplace, improvement tools, and PDCA problem solving.
  • Act as a change agent to instill Lean culture throughout the plant.
  • Manage events, projects, and tasks related to Kaizen events, cost‑reduction efforts, and new product/process introductions.
  • Design and build work and process solutions to support improvement efforts.
Qualifications
  • Positive attitude and self‑driven to learn and succeed as a team.
  • Experience teaching, training, and developing team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Spanish and English language proficiency preferred (native or intermediate).
  • In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods—Kaizen, Standard Work, 6S/5S, PDCA, and Visual Workplace.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • High School Diploma or GED required; some college experience preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification desired.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs, frequent walking, standing, and use of powered and manual equipment.
Physical Requirements

Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and grasping. Frequently walking and standing in a manufacturing facility. Frequently using powered and manual equipment to move, build, or repair solutions. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

Work Environment

Manufacturing environment with exposure to wood dusts and cabinet‑making materials. Exposure to hot/cold elements due to a non‑climate‑controlled environment. Personal protection equipment is required. Work is primarily day shift Monday through Thursday; overtime follows the plant schedule.
