— Job Description Position Summary
The primary responsibility of this role is to produce high-quality, accurate, precise and defect-free photomasks using laser imaging equipment. The technician will manage mask making workflows, inspect critical features to exact specification tolerances, and maintain excellent cleanliness and organization in a clean-room environment.
This position involves ongoing coordination with team members to communicate file revisions, resolve issues, and complete production orders quickly and accurately.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and monitor laser writing systems to meet customer-required dimensions and specifications.
Maintain plot queue and select correct materials, sizes, and chrome types per order.
Analyze processed samples to ensure accuracy; elevate any defects or anomalies.
Inspect and measure final products using microscopes and measurement software to ensure defect-free output.
Maintain the highest level of clean-room cleanliness; continuously keep work areas clean and controlled.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously; ensure timely completion of all orders.
Load and maintain master substrate blanks, process materials, and document production activity.
Communicate effectively with coworkers, and occasionally with customers, regarding job status and revisions.
Follow all company safety and clean-room gowning protocols (e.g., shoe covers, smocks, hair/beard coverage).
Required Skills & AttributesHigh degree of manual dexterity and ability to work with delicate components.
Technically effective using multiple programs simultaneously.
Able to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines; overtime may be required based on workload.
Strong attention to detail and quality-conscious mindset.
Effective multitasking and strong organizational skills.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Resourceful, innovative problem solver; willing to learn new skills and processes.
Able to stand for most of the shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced education preferred.
CAD/CAM software experience helpful.
Prior wafer or mask manufacturing experience useful.
Strong math skills, including conversion between Metric and English measurement units.
Ability to learn and operate company-specific software tools.
Must have no allergies to latex or clean-room processing chemicals; MSDS available upon request.
Work EnvironmentClean-room manufacturing space requires smocks, shoe covers, and hair restraints; facial hair must be covered.
Strict adherence to contamination-control protocols.
