Precision Steel Fabrication Welder At Milo Live, we engineer and build live fire training systems, modular shooting ranges, and custom HVAC solutions used across the nation. With 120+ modular installations and 500+ fixed-site projects delivered, our North Las Vegas operation blends high-end metal fabrication with precision manufacturing to create equipment trusted by military and public safety professionals.

What a day looks like

You arrive at our North Las Vegas facility and review shop drawings for a new steel frame assembly. You select the appropriate process for the metallurgy involved—MIG on one assembly, TIG on a precision joint, and stick for a heavy structural seam—then set up your machine, fixtures, and aids. Using micrometers and calipers, you verify tolerances, weld out the frame, finish to spec, and log quality checks.

You’ll move work pieces by forklift, flag improvement ideas to the team, and wrap up with a final inspection to ensure safety and performance standards are met.

Core responsibilities

Execute hand welding and flame-cutting to spec using MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW on steel components.

Handle complex seams and large assemblies requiring advanced welding techniques and heat control.

Interpret shop drawings, prints, specifications, and weld symbols with precision.

Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) and operate material handling equipment (forklifts).Build jigs, fixtures, and templates to maintain alignment and repeatability.

Select welding processes, filler metals, and parameters based on metallurgy and project needs.

Lay out, measure, and finish components to exacting tolerances and quality standards.

Recommend product or process improvements to enhance throughput and quality.

Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, compliant work area.

Qualifications2–3 years of professional welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing setting.

Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.

Skilled with precision measurement and layout; strong attention to detail.

Knowledge of metallurgy and multiple welding processes.

Comfort working independently with minimal supervision; solid time management.

Physical capability to handle demanding fabrication work and move parts safely.

Education and hiring requirements

High School Diploma or GED.Must pass pre-screening drug test and background check

Must pass the welding test prior to being hired

Successful completion of the application process and in-house welding test.

Fluent in English (read, write, speak).Experience and certifications2–3 years of professional welding experience (minimum).Current MIG certification (1-inch, all positions).Proficiency in GMAW, SMAW, FCAW (steel) in flat, horizontal, and vertical.

Experience with machine setup, parameter selection, and equipment operation.

Ability to read plans, interpret weld symbols, and use measuring tapes accurately.

Tools, machines, and technologies MIG welder (setup and operation).Plasma cutter and oxy-fuel cutting torch.

Assorted grinders and finishing tools.

Precision devices: calipers and micrometers.

Physical requirements

Lift and maneuver 50–75 lbs safely.

Excellent hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.

Provide personal PPE: welding helmet, leather protective wear, steel-toed boots.

Preferred Forklift experience (5,000 lb. capacity).Comfort with a wide range of hand and power tools.

Personal hand grinder ownership (preferred).Interest in cross-training across trades; self-directed learner.

ProficienciesOSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10).Tape measure reading.

Welding setups for production.

Blueprint reading.
