U.S.VETS—the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to preventing and ending veteran homelessness—is seeking an Outreach Specialist to join our Las Vegas team and help connect veterans to critical housing and support services.
This role is ideal for someone who is organized, compassionate, and comfortable working directly in the community with veterans experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
The Opportunity As an Outreach Specialist, you will provide direct outreach services to veterans in shelters, treatment programs, transitional housing programs, and other community locations. You will help veterans connect to housing programs, supportive services, and resources that support long-term stability and independence.
This role combines outreach, relationship-building, coordination, and administrative follow-through to ensure veterans are connected to the care and services they need.
What You’ll DoConduct Community Outreach:
Visit shelters, treatment facilities, soup kitchens, and community locations to connect with veterans
Build Relationships:
Establish rapport with veterans and community partners to encourage engagement in services
Coordinate Referrals:
Schedule screenings, transportation, and referrals for veterans entering programs
Track Client Information:
Maintain databases and documentation related to outreach activities and referrals
Support Program Events:
Assist with transportation and coordination for outreach activities and special events
Collaborate with Providers:
Work with external agencies and partners to collect required documentation and coordinate services
Produce Reports:
Maintain outreach logs and weekly reports of veterans engaged by the outreach team Participate in Team Meetings:
Attend outreach meetings and collaborate with staff across programs

Requirements
One year of experience in social services
Employment at U.S.VETS for at least three months may substitute for one year of experience
Strong oral, written, and communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work within a team Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Valid driver’s license. Must meet company insurance requirements and complete a provided driver training course
Preferences
Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field
Experience working with people experiencing homelessness and/or the veteran population
