About the Hospital

Valley Hospital Medical Center has been providing quality patient care since 1972. Located in the heart of the Las Vegas Medical District, the facility houses 306 acute care beds, including a 48‑bed behavioral health unit.

Job Description

Assumes shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to the patient, family and other appropriate participants. Coordinates multidisciplinary team members and directs nursing staff to obtain safe, optimal health care outcomes while supporting the facility’s vision, mission and goals. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team, overseeing and guiding employees under his/her supervision.

Adheres to Patient Centered Care principles and demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead nursing staff during shifts.
• Facilitate direct patient care and interprofessional collaboration.
• Maintain competency in clinical nursing practice and uphold institutional policies.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    Graduate of an accredited nursing school. BSN required.
  • Experience:

    Minimum one year full‑time or three years part‑time experience in acute care specialty nursing. One to three years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficient in physical assessment of cardiovascular patients, fluent in cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, comfortable with 12‑lead EKG interpretation and cardiac arrhythmias; knowledge of stress testing is preferred.
  • License/Certification:
    Current RN license in the State of Nevada, current BLS certification, ACLS, PALS, NRP and/or required specialty training or course completion (current upon hire).
  • Other:
    Must successfully pass any pre‑employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
