About the Role
The RN Coordinator serves as a key member of the departmental management team, providing clinical and administrative guidance to RNs, LVNs, MAs, and other clinical staff. The Coordinator performs complex assignments, supports physician needs, oversees triage nursing teams, delivers therapeutic outpatient care, and maintains compliance with privacy, safety, and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide guidance and mentorship to RNs, LVNs, MAs and other clinical personnel.
- Serve as a primary competency validator and educator for clinical staff.
- Oversee telephone triage for same‑day appointments and direct a team of triage nurses.
- Act as the personal contact for physicians, staff, patients, and external departments to resolve concerns.
- Assist in the management of clinical unit operations across multiple practice sites or clinic settings.
- Conduct individualized clinical evaluations, develop action plans, and monitor patient progress.
- Coordinate discharge planning and care transitions from inpatient to outpatient settings.
- Maintain a safe environment in compliance with infection control, hazardous waste, biohazard, medication sharps, and HIPAA regulations.
- Implement regulatory agency requirements such as National Patient Safety Goals, two patient identifiers, procedural time‑outs, medication reconciliation, and continuous survey readiness.
- Monitor status of pending items, follow‑up as needed, and report emergencies using standard protocols.
- Participate in professional development activities and assist in developing patient education materials.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of 2 years of outpatient/inpatient clinical practice.
- Excellent communication skills in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Knowledge of medical procedures, including whole blood collection and apheresis.
- Certified Case Manager (CCM) preferred.
- Registered Nurse – RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
- Registered Nurse – Nevada State Board (exempt from CA RN license).
- Fire Life Safety Training (Los Angeles City – required within 30 days of hire).
