Optum NV is seeking an Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Las Vegas, NV.

The Oncology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will work primarily in outpatient settings, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care for patients with acute and chronic hematologic and oncologic conditions.
Primary Responsibilities- Treat and manage patients with hematology and oncology diseases using standard methods and techniques in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Conduct comprehensive health history and physical assessments of patients with acute, chronic, and potential health problems.
- Order appropriate diagnostic studies, interpret results, and develop, implement, evaluate, and adjust plans of care.
- Co‑manage general medical and surgical conditions, providing counseling and education to patients and families.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Facilitate consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team.
- Participate in quality initiatives, performance activities, and development of standards of care.
- Provide outpatient urgent call coverage as needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, presentation, and epidemiology of medical conditions.
- Perform accurate and concise history and physical assessments appropriate for age, gender, and clinical problem.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and adjust the plan of care as needed.
- Maintain patient‐ and family‑centered, compassionate, and effective care for promotion of health, prevention of illness, and treatment of disease.
- Participate in self‑evaluation, seek constructive feedback, and pursue opportunities for clinical advancement.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with physicians, other health professionals, and health agencies.
- Apply best practice recommendations and demonstrate professional ethics, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Participate in organizational and departmental meetings, educational opportunities, committees, and work groups.
- Consider cost effectiveness and risk/benefit analysis in patient care decisions.
- Use evidence‑based medicine to systematically improve patient care practices.
- Participate in quality initiative/performance activities and develop standards of care within the area of specialization.
- Write specific orders within the limits of the practice agreement/scope of practice and oversee supportive care needs.
- Maintain clinical documentation according to group practice and provide appropriate direction to clinic staff regarding patient care issues.
- Conduct comprehensive health history and physical assessment as part of initial inpatient consult.
- Participate in rounding and collaborate with attending or consulting team to adjust plans of care.
- APRN or PA‑C licensure in Nevada, or ability to obtain before employment.
- National Nurse Practitioner certification through AANC or AANP, or Physician Assistant certification through NCCPA, or ability to obtain before employment.
- DEA registration or ability to obtain before employment.
- 1+ year oncology APC experience or 3+ years RN oncology experience.
- Basic technical computer proficiency.
- Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP®) certification or willingness to obtain when eligible.
The salary range for this role is $ , to $ , annually based on full‑time employment. Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
