Overview
Summerlin Hospital, part of the Valley Health System (VHS), is a 496‑bed facility offering emergency services, a busy maternity department, a Children’s Medical Center with NICU and PICU, advanced cardiovascular, surgical, women's health, and oncology care. It is an accredited Chest Pain PCI facility and Primary Stroke Center.
VHS includes six hospitals in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada. It is owned and operated by Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) and emphasizes patient‑centered care, teamwork, and continuous performance improvement.
ResponsibilitiesProvide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Demonstrate Service Excellence standards at all times. Oversee and guide direct reports. Implement Patient Centered Care principles.
Job DescriptionDeliver nursing care across all units in the hospital. Supervise and support healthcare staff. Ensure compliance with clinical policies and procedures. Foster collaborative practice. Provide patient education and support families. Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited nursing school; completion of a specialty course or equivalent within 6 months of hire. BSN preferred.
- One year of acute care experience or successful completion of an approved specialty course within 6 months of hire.
- Current RN license in the State of Nevada.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification for adult patients; PALS for pediatric patients; or NRP for neonatal patients as required by department.
- Other certifications as may be required by facility, specialty, or department.
- Must successfully pass any pre‑employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
