Nurse Practitioner - Convenience Care - Rotating Shifts; Exempt; Non-Union

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) Convenience Care position requires specialized skill and knowledge to provide direct patient care, conduct physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic studies, prescribe appropriate interventions, and lead clinical operations within a multidisciplinary team.

• Conduct patient health histories and complete physical examinations, documenting pertinent findings.
• Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests to inform care plans.
• Perform procedures such as specimen collection, injections, immunizations, skin biopsies, suturing, and wound care.
• Develop and implement long‑ and short‑term treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications, subject to physician counter‑signing, and manage medication orders.
• Initiate consultations and monitor scheduling of special tests and referrals.
• Provide patient and family education on preventive care, medical and psychological issues, and prescribed treatments.
• Coordinate with governmental agencies (e.g., CDC, NIH) and conduct research projects, including obtaining Institutional Review Board approval for protocols.
• Leverage community resources and refer patients to appropriate services based on medical needs.
• Maintain compliance with University, department, accreditation, and regulatory policies, including quality assurance, safety, and infection control.
• Participate in in‑service education programs and professional associations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school.
• Minimum of 5 years clinical nursing experience.
• Excellent communication skills in English (spoken, written, and reading).
• Knowledge of medical procedures and ability to perform them successfully.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred; ability to communicate with Spanish‑speaking patients.

• Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
• Nurse Practitioner (NP) license (NV NSBN) with board certification (ACNP, ANP, FNP, or AGNP).
• DEA Certificate with unrestricted control‑substance privileges (Schedule II–V).
• Nevada Board of Pharmacy license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Radiology Life Support (ARLS) certification obtained on or before 30 days from hire.
• USC Credentialing completed within 6 months of hire.
