Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.
St. Mary's Regional Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiovascular OR RN to join our surgical services team. As a CVOR nurse you’ll play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow nurses to ensure seamless operations and exceptional outcomes.
Responsibilities- Recognize and address patients’ psychological and physical needs.
- Foster continuity and quality of care with the best interest and well-being of patients and their families in mind.
- Assess a patient's medical status upon admission.
- Assist in developing individualized treatment plans.
- Comply with evaluation, treatment and documentation guidelines.
- Interact frequently with patient care providers, patients, and visitors, requiring swift verbal communication and accurate understanding of alarms, needs, and issues, especially during emergencies.
- Execute manual tasks such as operating monitors, manipulating complex and delicate equipment, and frequent computer use for documentation, medication preparation, and information access.
- Lift, transfer, and move patients, including bending, carrying supplies and equipment, and operating gurneys and portable equipment, often in crowded and busy rooms.
- Stand in a stationary position for extended periods of time as required for patient care tasks.
- BSN from an accredited program.
- Current Colorado RN license or a compact license with the ability to obtain a Colorado RN license.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within sixty (60) days of hire (with prior approval); ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate.
- At least one (1) year of cardiovascular nursing experience in a comparable acute care/surgical services setting (highly preferred).

St. Mary's Regional Hospital – Grand Junction, Colorado
Operating Room – 10 hours/day, Monday‑Friday with variable days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
Hourly range: $36.71 – $56.17 (actual rate dependent on experience).
