Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is seeking a Registered Nurse Pre Op Post Op PRN to join the team!

Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is a fast‑paced ambulatory surgery center committed to providing high‑quality surgical services to the local community. We offer a range of procedures across five operating rooms, including bariatrics, colorectal, general surgery/robotics, GI, OB/GYN, sports medicine, orthopedics, pain management, podiatry, and spine.

What You Will Do (Job Summary)

The Registered Nurse Pre Op Post Op provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient’s condition, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy. You may assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation, and use sterile techniques as appropriate. You will provide comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; conducting assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

The PRN work requirement is at least 6 shifts per month. The regular work schedule consists of variable daytime hours, Monday through Friday. Specific start and end times may vary based on operational needs, but the role is expected to be performed within standard daytime business hours. Flexibility in scheduling is required.

Required Skills
  • Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license to practice in NV
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school
  • 2+ years of critical care experience
  • Experience in an ambulatory surgical center (preferred)
  • Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certification accredited by AHA
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
  • Ability to adapt rapidly to changing patient conditions
  • Excellent team player with strong communication skills with staff, patients, and physicians
