Job Summary and QualificationsSeeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. In this role you will provide the best possible preventative and supportive intra‑operative care to each patient based upon their individual needs and are looking for a team member who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. - You will communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical condition
- You will respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment
- You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure
- You will perform general nursing duties in all Maternal Child Health departments with adequate supervision.
- You will maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts
- You will participate in performance improvement activities
You will act as the patient’s advocate, as circumstances require
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent
- Current license to practice as a registered Nurse in the State of Nevada
- Current BLS required
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (within 90 days of hire)
- AWHONN Fetal monitoring validation within 6 months of hire
- ACLS must be obtained within 3 months of hire/transfer
- Pass National League of Nursing medication test with score of 80%
- Minimum 1-year recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience, in a comparable or more active unit or completion of Labor and Delivery course at Southern Hills Hospital, including surgical suite
- Proficient in Labor and Delivery nursing procedures and skills, including fetal monitoring interpretation
- Proficiency in newborn, maternal/child, and labor and delivery, childbearing women (11-55 years), nursing procedures and skills, including assessment
