• Participate in development of the plan of patient care services for the responsible clinical area(s) to achieve the mission and vision of the hospital.
• Ensure unit compliance with regulatory agencies and the State of Nevada Nurse Practice Act; maintain daily staffing standards, coach charge nurses and unit personnel on effective staffing patterns, and pursue opportunities to improve care or system processes using performance improvement principles and data.
• Participate in annual budget development, implementation, and maintenance; ensure operations are managed in unit(s) within established guidelines while delivering quality patient care.
• Select, train, and evaluate subordinates; initiate personnel actions per HR policies and organizational philosophy; provide opportunities for professional growth and serve as a positive role model for staff management, problem solving, and professional standards of nursing.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• BSN required; master’s degree in nursing or related health field required or actively in progress.
• BLS, ACLS certifications.
• Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or Nursing Administration (CNA) preferred.
• Basic computer and hospital informatics skills required.
• Specialty certification for clinical area preferred – NRP, etc.
• Current acute clinical knowledge required; minimum of 1 year of management experience required.
• Recent acute clinical experience (3 years) required, preferably in assigned clinical area.
