Job Overview
The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one vacancy for the classification of Community Health Nurse I/II in the Tuberculosis Clinic within the Primary and Preventive Care Division. The eligibility list may be used to fill up to four (4) months of vacancies in this classification.
Responsibilities:
To perform public/community health nursing services in clinics, homes and in the community; and to provide community and client centered counseling, education, and information concerning illnesses.
- Community Health Nurse I
- Education and Training:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in nursing, or equivalent registered nurse experience (two years of RN experience may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree). - Experience:
One year of general registered nursing experience, preferably within the last five years. This requirement may be waived when a BSN has been obtained within the last two years with Community Health Nursing coursework. - License or Certificate:
Valid State Registered Nurse license, BLS/CPR certificate within six months of employment, and a valid Nevada driver’s license.

- Education and Training:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in nursing or equivalent registered nursing education, training, and experience. - Experience:
Two years of registered nursing experience, including a minimum one year of community health nursing experience within the last five years. - License or Certificate:
Valid State Registered Nurse license, BLS/CPR certificate within six months of employment, and a valid Nevada driver’s license.
- Education and Training:
- Flexible work schedules, including a four‑day, 10‑hour work week option (not applicable for all positions)
