Nursing Manager for Intermediate Care Unit (IMC)

The Nursing Manager for the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) is responsible for the 24-hour management of the assigned unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care that meets established standards. This role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise in acute care, and the ability to oversee daily operations, staff performance, and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the IMC unit, ensuring compliance with clinical standards and best practices.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and performance of nursing personnel to maintain optimal patient care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and unit efficiency.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care processes, implementing improvements as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Foster a positive work environment, supporting staff development and professional growth.
  • Address patient, family, and staff concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Participate in budget planning and resource allocation for the unit.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) or similar setting.
    • Proven leadership experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., charge nurse, supervisor, or manager).
  • Skills:
    • Strong clinical knowledge in intermediate or progressive care.
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
    • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration.
  • Certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., CCRN, CMSRN).

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced acute care hospital setting.
  • Requires flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
