Position: CNA Supervisor (Hospice) Tues-Sat
Description
Job Summary:The CNA Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the hospice home health aide staff. This position will be responsible for hiring, training, retention, discipline, and scheduling of the home health aides in conjunction with the demands of the hospice program. The CNA Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the annual supervisory requirements for the home health aides have been met and competencies are completed and accurate.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Job Functions:Assists with hiring, training, and retention of CNA staff to meet the demands of the hospice agencyEnsures that new CNAs have and maintain proper credentials per state, federal and CHAP requirementsMeets all competency requirements as required by state, federal and CHAP guidelinesSchedules CNAs according to the individualized Plan of Care established by the RN Case Manager for each patientThis position may also manage the supply inventory with oversight from the RN Clinical Coordinator(s); ordering & maintaining records of supply needsServes as the point of contact for patients and/or caregivers for CNA scheduling needs, concerns, and grievancesArranges for precepting of new CNAsImmediately reports any changes of staff to the RN Case Manager and RN Clinical Coordinator(s) or designeeCoordinates delivery of materials or supplies with patient supply companies to a schedule within business hours that is not disruptive to IDT meetings or other trainingEducates CNA staff on the use and potential hazards of patient care supplies, when necessaryGenerates miscellaneous patient reports when neededParticipates in Performance Improvement Activities as requestedParticipates in QAPI Compliance goals for CNA documentationCompletes appropriate documentation in a legible and timely mannerEnsures CNA compliance with attending staff meetings and in-service trainingGenerates and delivers disciplinary write-ups to CNAs under the supervision of the Human Resources teamStays current with all mandatory agency and regulatory requirementsReviews timekeeping performed by CNAs, verifying it is done according to the timekeeping policies and procedures, and approves timecards for payroll processingApproves CNA mileage and timecards for payroll processingAssures all CNA visits are closed in a timely mannerResponsible for completing CNA performance evaluations (90 day & annual) with assistance from the RN Clinical Coordinator(s)Other duties as assigned_____________________________________________

Physical/Safety Requirements:
Must be able to lift 10-40 lbs. on a regular basisMust be able to move intermittently throughout the workdayMust have the strength and endurance required for sitting for lengthy periods of timeMust possess sight/hearing and speech senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position are fully metCategory 2 for potential exposure to blood/body fluids.
