Vegas Fastener Manufacturing and Power Gen Components produce specialty fasteners and precision-machined components for demanding applications where dimensional accuracy, material performance and documented quality are critical.
This opening can be filled at the Quality Inspector I, II or III level based on experience. Entry-level candidates with a basic understanding of drawings and measurement tools can develop their inspection skills, while experienced inspectors can take ownership of complex inspections, First Article Inspections, GD&T requirements and technical guidance for the quality team.
You’ll inspect components and assemblies throughout the manufacturing process, work closely with production and engineering and help ensure every product meets its drawing, specification and customer requirements.
One day-shift and one night-shift position are available.
What you’ll be doingResponsibilities will vary based on the level at which you are hired:
- Inspect precision-machined components, subassemblies and assemblies
- Perform visual, dimensional, receiving and in-process inspections
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Verify product conformity using appropriate measurement and inspection equipment
- Accurately record results and maintain inspection documentation
- Identify and communicate nonconforming conditions
- Work with production, engineering and quality personnel to resolve issues
- Follow established quality procedures, policies and customer requirements
- Support continuous-improvement activities
- Maintain an organized and safe inspection environment
This level is designed for someone beginning or developing a career in manufacturing quality.
Responsibilities:
- Perform basic visual and dimensional inspections
- Use basic inspection and measurement tools
- Read and understand basic engineering drawings
- Complete receiving and in-process inspections
- Inspect components, subassemblies and assemblies
- Record accurate results in inspection reports
- Learn company quality procedures, policies and objectives
Qualifications:
- Up to 1 year of inspection, manufacturing, quality or related experience
- Basic understanding of inspection methods and measurement tools
- Ability to read basic engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and develop new inspection skills
This level is intended for an inspector who can independently evaluate more complex components and drawing requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all Quality Inspector I responsibilities
- Read and interpret complete engineering drawings and requirements
- Inspect more complex components and assemblies
- Perform First Article Inspections
- Apply and interpret GD&T requirements
- Plan and prioritize inspection assignments with minimal supervision
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of inspection, manufacturing, quality or related experience
- Working knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications
- Understanding of GD&T principles and inspection techniques
- Experience inspecting complex components
- Ability to select and use appropriate inspection equipment
This senior-level position is for an experienced inspector who can work independently, evaluate nonconforming parts and provide technical leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all Quality Inspector II responsibilities
- Interpret complete drawings, specifications and quality requirements
- Inspect a full range of manufactured components and assemblies
- Set up and operate available inspection tools and equipment
