Position: COCKTAIL SERVER - CASINO

Overview

The primary responsibility of the Cocktail Server - South Bar is to provide all Hotel/Casino guests with prompt and accurate beverage service and unmatched service in every interaction. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Efficiently and accurately takes and delivers orders, possesses excellent interpersonal service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor, manages multiple tasks, remains calm in a high paced and stressful environment and works well under pressure.
  • Interacts with guests while taking drink orders; includes up-selling and delivering high quality drink orders in a timely manner.
  • Must be familiar with both semi and modified beverage club service.
  • Maintains assigned areas by keeping them clean and free of debris and tracks guests while they move about the Casino floor.
  • Handles cash and credit transactions associated with beverage sales, accurately and efficiently; provides appropriate change to the guests.
  • Knowledge and terminology of beer, wine, and spirits.
  • Must be familiar with domestic and imported beers, different types of wine, brand name spirits, and garnishments.

  • Provides accurate directions and information for guest inquiries and is knowledgeable about all aspects of The Venetian and The Palazzo; to include services, features, attractions, promotions and special events.
  • Provides a service or assistance to meet the needs of a guest, client or customer.
  • Provides unmatched service to guests at all times. Proactively seeks guest service opportunities.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Health card, Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 1 year cocktail service experience in a high volume cash handling setting required.
  • Must possess superior customer service skills.
  • Previous experience at a pool or nightclub preferred.
  • Must possess brand and/or recipe knowledge and be familiar with customer ordering practices for beers, wines and spirits.
  • Must possess knowledge of attractions/restaurants in the Las Vegas area and provided by The Venetian Resort.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have the ability to speak and listen in a public forum, basic math skills are required, and ability to handle cash and accurately make change.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift or carry 25 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability to for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to environmental factors such as noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
