Position: Retail Sales Associate - Part Time - 2020

We are currently looking for the right Part‑Time Retail Sales Associate to join our team!

$12.00 to $15.00 per hour

We offer an easily achievable commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process!

Apart from hourly pay, retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $1.39 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, part‑time sales associates for pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. They greet, engage, and interact with customers in a positive manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions, handling a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

The position offers an hourly wage, PLUS commission based on productivity. Pay will vary by location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and interact with all customers to build rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
  • Perform non‑management opening/closing procedures.
  • Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintain merchandise displays.
  • Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle all cash and negotiable items following established procedures.
  • Answer incoming calls per company standards.
  • Explain the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers, using respectful and effective tools.
  • Collaborate with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
  • Complete assigned training successfully.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting as required by law.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • May be asked to assist customers on the exterior of the building or retrieve products from exterior storage areas.
  • Minimum age 18 years old.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong desire to serve customers, work with people, and be team‑oriented.
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient basic math calculations.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers may earn 2–8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Detailed commission information is provided during the interview process.
