• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

• Basic PC/Outlook skills
• Retail Management Certificate

Under direct supervision, the Meat Clerk provides friendly, courteous and helpful customer service. Assists customers, cleans shelves, and displays cases. Cleans, fills, and rotates the Meat Wrap displays. Works with customers to take special orders and with the Meat Cutter to determine which items need to be cut. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store; essential functions include lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.

Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling and serving food.
