The Sales Assistant function is a sales-service supporting role with potential to progress into a Salesperson role, provided the individual shows a compatible attitude and profile. This position interacts professionally with customers, suppliers and co-workers in a mentored environment designed to prepare the employee for future growth.
Responsibilities and DutiesAs a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected by the Sales Assistant. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
- Use proper phone etiquette and courtesy with customers.
- Analyze and compare clients' POs vs. respective Sales Orders to ensure consistency.
- Research and follow up on late customer orders, reporting back to the Sales Team.
- Assist the Sales Team in getting quotes and lead times from approved vendors.
- Verify and process Purchase Orders (POs) related to Long Term Agreements (LTA).
- Gather and share marketplace intelligence with management and sales personnel.
- Represent Sunshine Metals Inc. with professionalism and integrity.
- Prepare work according to priority and with moderate supervision while keeping in mind the financial goals and quality objectives of the company.
- Correspond and interact with customers using professional verbal and written communication skills.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of experience in sales supporting roles.
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving skills, and time management skills
- Ability to effectively multi-task
- Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with customers/suppliers
- Strong work ethic; initiative-taking
- Reside in the Las Vegas Area. This is a full-time on-site position.
- Experience working with Metal distribution and/or Metal Processing companies.
- Familiarity with Alluminum Alloys specifications.
- Two or more years of experience in an office environment.

Good working conditions. Frequent visual/auditory attention and involvement in discussions requiring reconciliation of adverse points-of-view. Requires continuous use of the telephone to receive and give information.
Exposure to hazardous machinery, sharp tools, proximity to moving objects, noise, heat, humidity.
