Job SummaryThe Rental Car Sales & Training Manager is responsible for developing, training, and coaching rental agents and customer service personnel to maximize sales performance, ensure consistent service quality, and support new hire onboarding. This role drives revenue growth, sales technique adoption, and employee readiness by designing and delivering training programs, monitoring sales performance, coaching front‑line teams, and reporting revenue results to leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Design, deliver, and continuously improve onboarding programs for new hires, ensuring agents are equipped with product knowledge, systems training, and customer service standards from day one.
- Provide ongoing training to rental agents on sales techniques, including upselling optional products (insurance, fuel options, upgrades, loyalty programs), objection handling, and closing strategies.
- Coach and mentor agents and supervisors on the sales floor through shadowing, role‑play exercises, and real‑time feedback to reinforce training concepts.
- Develop and maintain training materials, scripts, job aids, and reference guides that reflect current sales programs, promotions, and company policies.
- Monitor individual and location‑level sales performance against revenue targets, upsell penetration rates, and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Build and distribute regular revenue and sales performance reports to leadership, identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with branch and airport leadership to identify skill gaps, performance issues, and training needs, and develop targeted action plans.
- Lead recurring training sessions, refreshers, and team meetings to reinforce sales culture and accountability.
- Track training completion, certification, and onboarding milestones for new and existing employees.
- Stay current on rental industry sales trends, competitor offerings, and company promotions to keep training content relevant and effective.
- Collaborate with HR and operations leadership to align training initiatives with broader company goals and policy updates.
- Assist with the rollout of new sales programs, products, or systems, including training plan development and field communication.
- While standard business hours provide a general framework, this role requires flexibility. Leaders are expected to manage their time and workload effectively to ensure that all duties, deadlines, and business needs are met. This may include working beyond typical business hours, as necessary.
- Maintain adherence to company service protocols, confidentiality guidelines, and quality expectations.
