Job Description & How to Apply Below

We have a list of customers who should be buying more from us. Nobody has called them.

That's the job, and we're not going to dress it up as anything else.

Hot Prospector has been around for over a decade. We make the software marketing agencies use to run their calling, texting, speed-to-lead, appointment setting, and sales automation — most of it wired into Go High Level . Our customers are agency owners: people running real businesses with real money on the line, who will know within about ninety seconds whether you're worth their time.

We've operated remotely for years. We're opening a Las Vegas office now, building an in-person team, and this is one of the first seats in it.

The trifecta

Most people we talk to have one of these. Some have two. We need all three, and we're being upfront that it's a high bar:

1. You can sell. Not cold-call-a-stranger sell — you'll never buy a list here. But you can get a skeptical agency owner to actually engage, handle "we're fine with what we've got" without folding or steamrolling, and ask for the next step without flinching. If asking for a decision makes you uncomfortable, this is the wrong job.

2. You're organized. Ruthlessly. You'll be running dozens of open threads at once, and the person who wins here is the one who never drops one. If you say Thursday, it's Thursday. Charm without a follow-up system is worth nothing in this seat, and most people who are great at the first part are bad at this one.

3. You're technical enough to be useful. You don't need to write code. You need to learn a real software platform fast, understand call routing and lead flow well enough to talk to an agency owner as a peer, and figure things out without waiting for someone to explain it twice.

Sales-only people wash out here on the organization. Support-minded people wash out on the selling. If you're genuinely all three, you're rarer than you think and we'll pay attention to your application.

Why this role exists

We have people who onboard customers and people who fix things when they break. What we don't have is anyone who owns the questions that decide whether an account grows or quietly dies:

  • Who haven't we talked to in a while?
  • Who's paying for things they aren't using?
  • Who's at risk and doesn't know we noticed?
  • Who should be spending more with us because it would genuinely make them money?

Nobody owns those today. You would.

We've built a managed communications offering called HP Connect — we run the calling and messaging infrastructure for our customers directly instead of them wiring it up themselves. Faster support, direct access to our team in Slack, better number reputation and deliverability, a closer working relationship with us.

A lot of our customers should be on it and aren't, purely because nobody has picked up the phone and made the case.

Your first 90 days: work the eligible list, have the conversation, handle the objections, coordinate the migration with our technical team, and make sure it actually lands. There's a weekly target and you'll always know exactly where you stand against it. You will be measured, and we'll tell you how.

Warm conversations with people who already pay us. No cold lists, no spray-and-pray, no dialing strangers.

Where it goes from there
  • A book of agency accounts that's yours to grow
  • Finding expansion that's real — more numbers, more usage, more services, more seats — because the customer will make money on it
  • Catching risk early and saving accounts that would otherwise walk
  • Driving adoption, which is the whole game in subscription software
  • Pulling our founder into the conversations where his experience closes something you opened
  • Building the playbook this department will run on

Longer term: business reviews, health monitoring, retention programs, and training the people we hire behind you.

The part that makes this interesting

When an agency owner tells you their setters aren't booking enough meetings, the amateur move is to pitch a feature. The move that makes you money is questions.

How fast are leads getting called? How many attempts? What times of day? How many setters, how are they trained, is anyone reviewing calls? Is the real problem contact…
