Job Description Summary
As the Sales Manager, you are a key driver of the hotel's revenue and growth strategy. You take the lead in negotiating the sale of guest rooms and convention space for groups requiring 10 rooms or more, ensuring each client receives a tailored, value-driven experience. Beyond sales, you play a critical leadership role-guiding, coordinating, and supporting the sales administrative team to ensure seamless operations.
Your ability to build strong relationships, lead with clarity, and close with confidence directly impacts the success of the sales team and the hotel's long-term business objectives.
- Recruit, onboard, schedule, coach, evaluate, and manage department staff to support high performance, engagement, and alignment with company standards and service excellence.
- Drive the execution of strategic initiatives by translating organizational goals into actionable plans, ensuring team alignment, accountability, and timely delivery under the guidance of division leadership.
- Establish and uphold service standards within assigned department(s), ensuring consistent delivery that meets or exceeds guest expectations and operational goals.
- Identify and actively pursue new group business through self-generated leads, historical data, purchased lead sources, customer interviews, and trade show participation.
- Maintain and grow a strong portfolio of group business by independently soliciting, negotiating, and contracting room blocks and meeting space.
- Manage the end-to-end RFP process and rate negotiations, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and maximizing profitability.
- Plan and conduct local, national, and international sales trips in accordance with the Sales Plan.
- Oversee the preparation of contracts and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and coordinate with hotel departments to guarantee flawless event execution.
- Monitor and maintain Delphi and LMS systems, ensuring accurate data input and utilization of market intelligence for strategic sales forecasting.
- Compile and deliver detailed weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports.
- Participate in trade shows, conventions, and promotional events to enhance the hotel's visibility and build strong industry relationships.
- Oversee payroll and related administrative duties to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, if they apply to the position.
- Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 2 years of hotel sales experience; includes leadership or progressive responsibility in sales, hospitality, or revenue-generating roles.
- Proven track record of effective decision-making under pressure and in dynamic environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence, coach, and resolve conflict across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to adapt leadership style to support changing business needs and team dynamics.

- Strong knowledge of group contracts, RFP process, and sales metrics.
- Ability to access and input information using a moderately complex computer system.
- Proficient with Delphi and LMS systems preferred.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word; familiarity with collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams.
At least 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent required;
Degree/certification preferred
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
