Job DescriptionPre‑Award Administrator, UNLV Research Administration, Office of Clinical Trials (Flexible Work Schedule) (Job Requisition: R0150617)
Responsibilities- Assist and serve faculty and staff in seeking, negotiating, and managing clinical trials, including all pre‑award activities.
- Manage all pre‑award financial and administrative activities for industry‑sponsored and investigator‑initiated clinical research studies.
- Develop and negotiate clinical trial budgets and coordinate proposal submissions.
- Ensure regulatory and institutional compliance and facilitate timely study start‑up.
- Maintain cost management and financial integrity of public funds.
- Act as liaison between the university and clinical trial sponsors, federal agencies, foundations, industrial firms, state and local agencies.
- Perform work under general supervision, with increasing independence as experience is gained.
- Understanding of sponsored program administration (pre‑award and post‑award) and general knowledge of research across academic disciplines.
- Basic principles of sponsored project budgeting, including cost development, budget documentation, and policy interpretation.
- Experience developing budgets, billing grids, and internal cost summaries; reconciling project budgets; preparing budget reports and adjustments.
- Familiarity with federal regulations and compliance requirements applicable to sponsored research.
- Experience with budget development, financial tracking, or reconciliation activities for sponsored projects or clinical research.
- Working knowledge of policies, federal and state regulations, and industry standards (CFR, GCP, ICH, EU directives, IP, privacy laws, etc.).
- Knowledgeable of major funding sources and their policies.
- Experience in an academic medical center or large research institution.
- Certification in research administration (e.g., CRA, CCRC, CPRA).
- Providing financial services for clinical trials and other extramurally‑funded clinical research projects.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organizational and independent working skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and prior experience with budgeting/financial management.
• Fundamental understanding of IRB processes related to clinical trials.
• Credentials must be obtained before the employment start date.
- Previous experience in Clinical Trials.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in research administration, clinical trial financial management, or related financial/analytical work in a complex, regulated environment.

SalarySalary range is $52,300 – $69,700. No amount above the stated range will be offered.
