Security Manager
Overview
The Security Report Writer is responsible for accurately documenting all security-related incidents, accidents, and investigations on resort property, ensuring that reports are clear, factual, and compliant with regulatory standards as well as statutory requirements for the elements of relevant crimes. This role requires the ability to write detailed, objective reports that address the specific legal elements outlined in Nevada law, supporting both criminal prosecution and civil litigation defense.
The Security Report Writer must also follow best practices to prevent spoliation by thoroughly preserving evidence, maintaining chain of custody, and adhering to established documentation protocols. Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays; prior experience in security, law enforcement, or hospitality is preferred, and the ability to obtain a Nevada Gaming Control Board work card is required.
Job Duties
- Respond to and document thoroughly all security-related incidents, ensuring accurate collection of facts, witness statements, and evidence.
- Write clear, detailed, and objective reports that meet regulatory standards, statutory crime elements, and support civil litigation defense.
- Preserve and document all relevant evidence, maintaining chain of custody and following procedures to prevent spoliation.
- Review surveillance footage and document findings as needed for investigations and risk management.
- Maintain organized records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Work closely with the security management team to identify areas for improvement in security operations.
- Patrol the resort property regularly, ensuring a visible security presence and responding to incidents swiftly and professionally.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with security staff, management, law enforcement, and other stakeholders during and after incidents.
- Stay current with the latest security techniques, standards, and regulations affecting the resort industry.
- Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. (Required)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy (Required)
- Basic understanding of Microsoft suite of programs
- Familiarity with evidence handling and chain of custody
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory standards
- Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under pressure.
- Physically fit and able to patrol the property and respond to incidents.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Previous experience as an investigator, police officer or similar role in a large-scale resort or casino environment.
- Experience with surveillance systems and techniques.
- Experience with the Microsoft suite of programs
- Bilingual abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year previous experience in Security or a similar or related field.
Education and Experience
- Some college education in criminal justice or related field preferred.
- Prior military, law enforcement, or investigator highly valued.
- Any additional certifications related to security, law enforcement, or emergency response are advantageous.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to obtain the following:
Nevada Gaming Registration;
Alcohol Awareness Card;
Nevada Driver’s License; CPR
